As a counseling psychologist, I have been trained specifically to help people address career concerns and developmental issues occurring across the lifespan. Counseling psychology is a psychological specialty that is uniquely oriented toward people who are doing reasonably well in their lives but are experiencing some form of distress. They generally do not have serious or persistent mental illness. Counseling psychology focuses on prevention, development, and adjustment. Treatment may be brief or longer-term and it is often problem-specific, solution-oriented, and goal-directed.
My aim is to work together with you to identify your challenges, build upon your strengths, and focus on getting constructive results as quickly as possible. I will maintain a professional relationship with you that is compassionate, ethical, and welcomes bringing a sense of humor and creativity to the process.
In a national study of Americans using therapy, 50% made notable improvement
after 8 sessions and 75% made notable improvement after 6 months.
During their lifetime, 1 in 5 Americans will have psychological problems
that require treatment.
